Player names which is generated randomly are very restricted. I have 3 lachlan, 2 blake, 2 carter already and i'm afraid there will be more by looking youth acamedy. Is it possible to add more names to 'names pool' of NZ. There must be alsa the Maori names alsa. I couldnt see any yet. As you know there are many valuable maori players in All Blacks.

I think this is a good suggestion, there are many pacific island players in the All Blacks as well. We could start with names of current players? Willing to help generate a list.

I am working at a tool that will allow staff members to add names to player database. I will tell you more details when it will be ready.

Same thing here, I have 3 players with the family name Conta. Half of the phonebook is only for Popescu and Ionescu, yet none in the game. You can also add this family names with meaning: Butuc, Potcoavă, Secure, Pătrunjel and so on.
And I have a player with his first name Fane , this is not a real name, it is a nickname, short of Ştefan.

One more name problem. Seen something strange on the transfer list and when clicked on the team page it was even stranger. www.rugbyspirit.net/players.php?tid=331Polish team, all players are polish with british names.

That's because there is no polish names database. Someone sent me a list with polish names and I will insert this in the database when I will have some time.

You're obviously fairly busy but I can compile an expanded NZ list as well, based on names of current NZ players in the super 15 squads.

Ok. Great. Write your list in 2 notepad files. One for names and one for surnames. In each file you have to write the name/surname and comma, space and frequency. Frequency is a number from 1 to 5. If the number is 1 the name is prety rare (eg. Anthony). If the number is 5 the number in frequent (eg. John).
Here is a example with polish names:
Andrzej, 5 Borys, 4 Dominik, 1 Jerzy, 2
Send me this 2 files via email at florinfratica@yahoo.com.

Its me again with a new bug in names and a quick history lesson. I found this www.rugbyspirit.net/player.php?id=21869 come on ....... Dobrogeanu ? Is there anyone in the entire country with this name ? Olteanu, Munteanu or Moldovan exist because there were people who moved from one region to another and they kept the name of the birth place. When foreigners camed to our lands they kept their origin resulting in names like Ungureanu, Cazacu, Rusu or even Horvat (Croatian). Dobrogea was anexed by the Kingdom of Romania after the Russian-Turkish War in 1877 AD. Since then people started moving in Dobrogea because it was a colony, sometimes entire villages have moved here. Untill 22 years ago nobody moved out of Dobrogea, people just kept coming in. And we all had family names 22 years ago and for a name like Dobrogeanu to exist is quite imposible.

Search Dobrogeanu on Google. There are people with this name so aparently there are people who moved from Dobrogea. If there's at least 1 people from Romania with that name, I don't see what is the problem.
P.S.: The names are from Wikipedia. BTW Olteanu, Munteanu and Moldovan are in the database.

I did a google search and found the top 3 who are also the only 3. Solomon Katz a jew from Ekaterinoslav Ukraine, born in 1855, moved to Romania and changed his name to Constantin Dobrogeanu. Eugen Dobrogeanu, became a high rank officer in the ROmanian Army in WW2 right after we changed sides and abandoned Hiter, kind of suspicious. Cristi Dobrogeanu a modern music singer, not much info but I suspect that Dobrogeanu is his nickname just like Jean from Craiova has or others that sing this tipe of music. I have meet people with strange names like Borcan, Mădularu, and people I know have seen others with family names like Puţică, can't get much weirder than that, but this is the first time i ever hear of Dobrogeanu, never ever have I imagined to exist such a name.

He is a folk singer so I doubt this isn't his real name. I have meet people with strange names like Borcan, Mădularu, and people I know have seen others with family names like Puţică, can't get much weirder than that, but this is the first time i ever hear of Dobrogeanu, never ever have I imagined to exist such a name. It's not so weird. I think you exagerate a little bit. But, when I will improve the database with player names I will delete the name Dobrogeanu or I will make it not so frequent.

Dont delete this name, because there were some persons with this name, just make it very rare.
I would just have added as names things that i have in my yard, like animals and tools.

Hello. In French, some players (one in my team but i seen another one elsewhere) are named "Chateanuef". I think you "slipped" a little when you retrieved this name . It's more "Chateauneuf" (maybe for next players....) Do you want some new French names to increase database ? (and surname too of course), I think we (French community) can help you for this kind of boring and not very interesting task....
