I've heard this news for a few months. It came true at the end. We will be in the international area soon. I know we are at the very bottom but i believe rugby in Turkey will improve by international matches. Our national league is growing year by year. Also new teams begin their franchises. It's good to see not everyone addict to just football all the time. News are great. Thanks.

I seriously doubt the intentions of the turks, it looks more like propaganda to prove everyone they are in compliance with the West.
From my own experience from the time i tried to promote Normal Football (aka Aussie Rulles) to Romenia, i have learned that people are idiots and lack the mental focus to understand the game simple rules. Or that people are atracted to games that represent them the most.
My point is that Georgia a small Caucasus country ravaged by war, still manages to impose itself in the World of Rugby, its only because those people are born to play rugby. And if Turkey, a huge country on two continents, an ex-empire, has not to people that play rugby because they love the game and not because of government pressure, than that country should be exposed for what it really is.

It is not that point exactly. development of rugby is certainly not because of propoganda or government pressure. Please do not make nonsense comments unless you do not know anything about Turkey. I know that most of west community has prejudge about my country. But please forget this old tales. In Turkey government does not support any sports other than football(soccer). Interest of rugby has risen in Turkey just because of the rugby love of a couple of people especially university students. They really have a hard challenge about even finding suitable arenas to play rugby or reach quality rugby equipment. Believe me if our government had really supported or made pressure to play rugby, our position would have been much better than this. Unfortunately most of people and also government just support this stupid soccer.

Our first test match ended with glory Turkey: 31- Slovakia: 5 Congragulations to our young squad. They did well. When i look for the players in our squad i saw that we have many good players who play in England, France and Germany leagues. That really gives good hopes to us to become successfull in the international Rugby arena...
