Hello,
I found the following in a french rugby game. Don't say it's all good, but I like the numberous combination it allows (part of it is already in RS) :
Tactics (Forward, Half, Normal, Rear, Wingers) Here, the attacking zone and that are determined players chosen. - Forward: it is the forwards who will play the ball. That front? Watch a game where there are penetrations flush. - Half: everything will happen around (both sides) running backs. - Normal: Announces "classic". It opens off. Consider all the players touch the ball on such an action. - Rear: rear interposed in the line of three-quarters. - Wingers: the ball is always on the wings. This tactic furthest from the pack.
Styles (foot exclusif / mainly foor / equal / mainly hand / hand exclusif) know that your choice of style depends on the decision to enter or play the hand. this will be a percentage. So there is always the possibility of playing with hand, even if one decides to play with foot exclusive.
Strategy (closed / def / equal / off / open) you will provide direction to your team. Offensive or defensive. Thus the strategy will influence the development of the attack. Otherwise, know that a bonus in attack is always accompanied by a penalty in defense and vice versa.

Another idea is the difficulty for a player to change his line. There are 6 lines : (1,2,3) (4,5), (6,7,8), (9,10), (12,13), (11,14,15).
An idea could be this one : - experience is gain according to the line : the player could have 3xp for the half position, and 0xp fot the rear position. So that he will loose efficiency (comparatively to n°9,10 position) when playing n°15.

this serves to improve the defense of your players. By cons, you may get more than you do by the patrol (most likely penalties and cardboard). More chance of injury as well. For you and your opponent. In short, the type of game that will give you all a lot of friends.

when dealing with fatigue and stamina, this could be a good scrum option to take advantage with the secondary skill stamina :
- The surge: pack up everything in its power to push the opposing pack. Useful to tire the opposing pack! But it is also tiring for his own pack.
- Classic: The objective is not to impose a physical challenge but rather to control the opposing pack and position themselves to get out the oval in good conditions.

there are different tactics when defending to... in order to focus against a specific oponent tactic (play short, play long, play off,...).
...
and then for lineout : attack : reduced lineout or not ? defense : how many jumper to gain the lineout (malus for next defensive phase, if there are 3 jumpers) ?
...
In short, a lot of options.... I think I have written down too much options... but I think adding few of them could add fun when setting match orders. In my opinion there is no emergency to provide them. But having them in mind when upgrading the match engine could be an advantage for the future.
