I think again about the ideal ME...
As I do not totally agree with the full dual point of view, I try do do some modeling.

- each phase take into account two parameters (yes IMO each phase has an impact on the next one) :
> defensive pressure (the 1st line defense organization) : it has negative effect on attack phases, so attackers try to set it down.
> ball protection : it has negative effect on defense turnover try, so attackers have to set it up.
- each phase resolves in attacker/defender confrontation. But it can be individual, or collective one.
- according to the confrontation result , there is distance gain, and parameters adjustment. Then go to next phase (in my array, I just wrote the most favorable newt phase for attackers).
It can be viewed as a change phase graph.
Most common attack phase is the following :
- attack phase (one of A-? phase) is about collective play to gain ground.
- then attacker has no more pass solution. He has to keep the ball when his opponent tackle him : dual (D-? phase).
- if all is ok, the attacker gains grouping with the ball (one of G-? collective phase).
- if the ball is kept during the ruck or maul, it's up to the n°9 to play (one of the H-? phase). He launchs a new A-? phase according to manager priority.
Why this proposition ?- I think part of the rugby deals with collective aspect, and in my model, there are individual and collective dual.
- I already spoke about parameters... it's about phases chaining... to take past into account.
- I try to balance open game and closed game since I think they are both important. That's why for the 2 games, I proposed 2 times :
> collective/tactical time (A-? and G-? choice may be weighted by manager)
> individual time (D-? and H-?) : because there are duals in rugby. During this phase, bonus (extra distance gain,...) could be further added according to player profil.
- Defense could be added in the model by making tactical choice
- Individual order could be added by involving players less or more for each phase
